Some things aren't true until you say them...

06.09.2003 - 3:44 p.m.

An interesting effect of a college education in English and philosophy is that you come out believing that nothing means anything. Especially words; because there is always that fuzzy space between the stated definition and the truth, so nothing you say can ever be the true heart of a matter.

Another interesting effect is that you end up believing that there is no such thing as change, as life, as soul; there is especially no such thing as truth. And that's why words are so important; while they are themselves meaningless, and truth nonexistant, you can still use them to say true things.

(This bit of vague, ersatz philosophy has been brought to you by the active ingredients in my cough syrup, and also by today's string of 'unproductive' emails.)
